Wake Up Call

Halloween season is upon us! That means the fan-favorite Wake Up Call is ghosting its way back onto our shelves! Last year, we blended two Ethiopia coffees but for this rendition, we offer a unique, one-off single-origin lot. Wake-Up Call comes in a smaller, 8 ounce bag compared to the usual 12 ounces.

This year's Wake Up call is a washed Ethiopia from Gedeo, a region in Southern Ethiopia known for its exceptional cup quality and local varietals, as well as containing the well-known subregion of Yirgacheffe. The particular lot used is from the Danche village of Gedeb, a southern district of Gedeo where many newer farmers have taken up residence. Grown slightly above 2,000 MASL, this lot undergoes fermentation and processing in tanks and is then carefully dried outside during only the hours with the most intense sunlight.

Lemon bar is the headlining note of this coffee, with a complex citrus that accompanies a sugary sweetness to make a coffee that is simply a treat. We also taste black tea and dried cherry in the background, rounding out the cup.
