Party Animal

We're excited to say that Party Animal is back! This offering is rotating selection of natural-processed coffees from Africa.

Stancoff Company Limited, founded in 2018 by Manzi Junior Francis and Elly Wakadala, initially served as coffee cherry sourcing agents for multinational coffee companies. Today, it operates centralized processing stations in Rubirizi and Rwimi (Western Uganda) and supplies premium Ugandan coffees to international markets.

In Kabarole District, near Fort Portal, Uganda, Stancoff collaborates with 203 coffee farmers, including 80 women. Lead farmers purchase coffee from their communities, prepare it, and deliver it to Stancoff. During the season, these farmers supply about 70 tonnes of coffee cherries, yielding nearly 10 tonnes of green coffee beans. Stancoff processes the coffee at its Rubirizi facility and transports it to Mbale for dry milling before exporting. 

This particular lot has gone through an anaerobic natural process, meaning the whole cherries are placed inside sealed, low-oxygen tanks. Natural yeasts and bacteria then ferment the sugars in the fruit flesh, which usually results in bold, fruit-forward flavors. In the cup, this coffee is an amazing example of an anaerobic natural with a jammy purple fruits profile. It carries clear notes of grape jelly and blackberry, with a honey-like sweetness.
