Lightning in a Bottle

We are excited to introduce a new offering to the Thunder lineup with Lightning in a Bottle! This label will cover natural-processed coffees from Central and South America, presenting fun and funky flavors.

Our inaugural Lightning in a Bottle is a standout lot from this year's harvest in Peru. It comes to us from producer Silvestre Marin and his farm in Jaén, an area known for producing much of Peru's highest quality coffee.

SIlvestre operates the farm with his four sons: Felipe, Joel, Aurelio, and Moises. Together, they farm 14 hectares of land with varietals including Catuai, Marshel and Geisha. This lot consists of Caturra and Catuai, harvested at an elevation of 1850 MASL. The Marin family has also installed industrial dryers in their home, allowing them to dry their natural coffees after a period of drying on raised beds.

This lot showcases the high quality and consistent process of the producers, with excellent clarity for a natural. We taste orange candy, rum cake and grape soda with a very lively body.
