Karindundu Nyeri

Kenya coffees have been great this year. We have tasted pretty much every tropical fruit you can imagine within the first few Kenyas we have had on the table and we knew pretty quickly that we would be bringing in a premium washed selection.

Coming from Nyeri County in Kenya and gathered at Karindundu factory on the slopes of Mt Kenya, this coffee is a perfect example of what a washed coffee can be. Volcanic soils, consistent rainfall and an elevation of 1700-1900 MASL contribute to clarity and depth of flavor, while the local Barichu Farmer's Cooperative provides competitive prices and diligent screening for quality.

This lot is graded as AA, the highest grade given to Kenya coffees, and is comprised of classic Kenya varieties SL28 & SL34.

Flavor-wise, we are in love with this one. It is very layered and clear in its flavors while being punchy, especially so for a washed coffee. We taste mango, cranberry and lime.
