Happy New Year! I hope your year is off to a great start, and am excited to be sharing some new offerings to help give your 2026 mornings a kickstart. With the new year, we are also starting a monthly writeup on new and upcoming coffees! We have seen some great lots come through our doors and want to keep everyone updated when new coffees are available.

The coffee harvest in Peru is finishing up, with lots having landed in the United States over the past month. This year has been hectic, with inclement weather and an uncertain global economic landscape contributing to a year like we have never seen before. However, through many samples tasted and roast profiles tried, we are proud to present two offerings from this recent harvest.

First is our newest iteration of Rhinestone Cowboy. This coffee comes from the Querocoto district of the Cajamarca region. Querocoto, a relatively new growing region, was largely used for cattle farming until it was revealed that the soil handles coffee excellently. This, combined with the high elevation, creates the potential for exceptional cup quality.

Our offering from Querocoto is a very clean, washed lot. It’s a great example of what a nice washed Peru can taste like, presenting notes of red fruits, caramel candy and baking spices. A clean body and mild acidity lend to it being a super sessionable sipper and an all-around great staple that will be sticking around for a bit.

Second is a special release as well as the launch of a new product line. A few months ago, we acquired a super funky El Salvador natural, which was launched as Matador. We loved this coffee, but it was not the typical safer offering that Matador as a product line presented. Because of this, we are adding a permanent slot for South and Central American naturally-process coffees.

This product line is called Lightning in a Bottle, and will be joining our permanent lineup as a counterpart to Party Animal, which will now be limited to natural-process coffees from Africa.

Our first Lightning in a Bottle is from Jaén, a subregion of Cajamarca known for producing consistently exceptional coffees. This particular lot is produced by the Marin Family, which consists of Silvestre Marin and his four sons. Through regular use of fertilizers and mechanical dryers located on their farm, they produced a layered, complicated natural lot with an incredible sweetness and fruitiness. We taste orange candy, grape soda and bubblegum.

This lot is special, and is being sold in 10oz bags with special artwork! Whether it’s a pourover at our West Fargo location or a bag of whole beans, it is sure to impress. Once it’s gone, though, Lightning in a Bottle will be added to our permanent lineup, with more unique offerings to follow.

As for the future, we also have a super tea-like, floral Ethiopia by farmer Mr Ocholo Bedecho coming to take the slot of All Fringe, No Frill. More info about it will be shared next month!

Thank you for taking the time to read; it means to the world. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading and can’t wait for you to enjoy the coffee!

Until next time,
